MONREP – Model-based Optimization for Nonlinear and Restricted Production Processes

MONREP – Cooperation with Cologne University of Applied Sciences: Model-based optimization for non-linear and restricted production processes.

The research project MONREP started in January 2014 and is supported by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi) within the framework “Zentrales Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand“ (ZIM). Project partners are Cologne University of Applied Sciences and the company divis intelligent solutions GmbH. The main objective of the project is to find better solutions for difficult and restricted optimization problems.

One of the main points of this research project is the deployment of model-based optimization methods. The model-based optimization enables the learning of the objective function as well as restriction bound based on mathematical models. By means of these so called meta- or surrogate-models it should be possible to determine more efficient solutions for difficult problems which contain many variables and restrictions.
