Thomas Bäck gave a keynote at IDEAL 2019

Thomas Bäck was keynote speaker at this year’s IDEAL conference (Intelligent Data Engineering and Automated Learning) in Manchester, UK. The conference focuses on topics in data analytics and data mining. In his presentation “Automatic Configuration and Learning for Evolutionary Computation” Thomas spoke about evolution strategies, a class of evolutionary algorithms, and their performance. He then illustrated a typical application example from the domain of industrial engineering design (such as ships, cars, etc.).
